Nissan Repair: nissan factory CD player/radios, pioneer cd player, nissan sentra

Question
When installing a factory CD player in a 04 Nissan sentra; do you need the wires and plugs to install it like the other CD players you see in department stores?; or does the factor radio have a socket and plug; that you just insert ex: I now have a pioneer CD player in my Nissan...do I take out the plugs and wires for the pioneer CD player and insert the factory radio...thank a bunch

Answer
Hi Devin -

A factory CD player matching the year, make and model of your vehicle should fit with the original terminal harness.

Unless, when the pioneer stereo was installed, the original harness was cut off (this is usually the case with aftermarket installations). And after market player never matches to the stock harness.

Hopefully you still have the old harness, then you can match the colors of the wires. Otherwise, take note of the pioneer and follow the wires, tag them, and hook up the new player according to the wire labeling.

Hope this helps -
