Nissan Repair: transmission 94 pathfinder, oil level, transmission oil

my 94 pathfinder has a hard kick from first to second gear..one day it wouldnt shift to 2nd at all..but later worked fine but still with that kick...what to do?

Hi Casey -

I am assuming the transmission oil level is OK.

First, I would try changing the oil and there is an additive I would recommend. It is called AT-205. I notice you are from Hawaii, so go to any Carquest, and they will have it. I have used it many times in the past, and even worked for non-shifting transmissions.

I that fails, then you are probably looking at a trans overhaul -
