Question
QUESTION: My 2007 Maxima shows wrong temp as -22F but outside is 85F. So when turn on AC, hot air blows. What could go wrong here. Thanks!

ANSWER: Hi Todd -

Are you saying that no matter what you set the thermostat (temp setting at), it reads -22F?

Thanks

QUESTION: Hi!

I tried to set to like 75F, the hot air came out and make interior uncomfortable. I think the car thinks that the temp is really -22 and try to reach to 75F so it blows hot air.

Thanks,
Todd

Answer
Hi Todd -

Something may be wrong with your thermostat (rheostat) for your air conditioner. Could be the controls or the sensor. Only way to find out is to take it in to the dealer or a specialty A/C shop (latter preferred).

Sorry I cannot be of more assistance, as it is difficult to diagnose without the car in front of me. You are right, however in saying that the unit thinks the temp is at -22 degrees and it tries to make the 75.

Hope this helps -
