Nissan Repair: reading codes, egr solenoid, exhaust gas recirculation

My check engine light came on and so I did the self diagnostic by reading the check engine light flashes.  The code was 3-2, but the description of the fault isn't very clear.  (Exhaust gas recirculation system flow problem)  Could you elaborate a little for me.  thanks so much, Anthony

I'm sorry about the delay, I was ill for a few days. The EGR valve system or it solenoid has informed the control unit that the exhaust gas does not go past the EGR valve and into the intake manifold. Most of the time, the problem is at the EGR solenoid and it could be mechanical or electrical failure, or a vacuum hose is disconnected or the EGR valve is stuck closed. What year and model are we talking about here?
