Nissan Repair: FACTORY ALARM, nissan xterra, nissan dealer

Question
Hey Bill, My name is Chase and i need some help with my 2002 Nissan Xterra. I just got i back from the shop because i got in an accident and i was outside of my car looking at my new headlights and trailer hitch. I went back inside and when i went out to move my car in, the alarm went off. It started to honk and the lights flashing. It is a factory installed security system. The honking eventually stopped but now my car wont start. I have tried to unlock my driver side door etc. and nothings working. Is there any factory reset or button or cord i can do something with to make the car start? I hope you can help me

Answer
Hi there, seems to be a problem with the BCM (Body Control Module). The BCM it also controls the alarm. There is nothing that you can do yourself at this point because there is no "reset" buttons. The Vehicle needs to go to a Nissan dealer and have the BCM reprogrammed or at least see if it was damaged by the accident. :)
