QUESTION: i have a 99 nissan quest minivan 3.3L engine v6

ANSWER: Hi friend, this is a little tricky if haven't done this before. With the cylinder #1 on top dead center, slide the distributor in. If the distributor has a geared shaft, it will rotate is it goes in. Observe the distributor cap and locate the #1 terminal as the number is stamped on it. If you place the cap on the distributor is the rotor underneath pointing to # tower of the cap? If not, lift the distributor and rotate the rotor by hand just a little and try to sit it again. IMPORTANT! Do not force the distributor in! With the distributor fully seated is the rotor corresponding with the #1 tower? You can turn it a little but make sure that the tight down bolts of the distributor are in the middle of their free travel so you can adjust the timing later. Keep trying till you get it right. After you succeeded tight the distributor temporarily, install the cap and start installing the plug wires. The firing order is: 1-3-5-2-4-6. So after you put the #1 plug wire to #1 spark plug, then you put the #3 to the plug #3 and so forth following the numbers on the cap. Try to start the engine. If you have the firing order right it should start without any problems or backfiring. If when you crank the engine sounds different and kind of hesitant, then the timing is advanced too much. turn the distributor a tad till the cranking sound is smooth and even. Connect a timing light and adjust the timing to specifications. You are done! However, if this is the first time you are doing this and you are not sure you will succeed, please take the car to a shop and they will do it for you in less than 10 minutes. I hope this helped.

QUESTION: i done everything the car starts runs then it for no reason it died try to start it but there was no power to start with waited a couple days later went to try again and it started what could have cause it to do that is it electrical, how would i check it.

Answer
When you try to start the car there is no electrical power at all? No dash lights, no interior lights, no key buzzer sound and the starter motor doesn't turn? Have you check the battery and the charging system? The Battery it should maintain 12.6 volts and when the motor is running and  the alternator is charging the battery, it should read 13-14.5 volts maximum. So, we need to check the charging system first and then take it from there.
