Nissan Repair: Oil Leak, competent mechanic, oil sending unit

Question
I am having an oil leak according to the service place it is coming from everywhere.  Any suggestionss on what I should look for and is it something that I can fix myself.  The valve gasket was replaced a couple of days ago.

In a previous post I read that you said clean the engine and look for drips.  What would be the most effective way for me to get this clean and is their anything that I do to help identify where the leak is coming from?

Answer
Hi Jason -

The most common cause of an oil leak is the oil sending unit. Usually it is located near the oil filter, attached to the engine block.

This is an easy replacement, the challenge is access. I did not get your year and model of your nissan, so i cannot give you details.

If not, I would check the timing cover gasket, or camshaft seal.

These require more sophisticated tools. I would take it to a competent mechanic if you don't have the right equipment.

Hope this helps
