Nissan Repair: need help please

i got a 1992 nissan maxima GXE and it was running good for a while and then it would sputter or jerk. ( as if it was stalling out) then drive fine again, but when i turn it off it will not start. the first time i got a jump and it was fine and today it did it again and now i'm right back to square one i have know idea about what to do i'm running out of options and got to go to work on monday. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

When you say you turn it off and it will not start, does the engine crank? or do you hear nothing, or just clicks?

If the engine cranks, then I would check the fuel pump delivery.

If it just clicks or has not response when you turn the key, that could be the battery or starter.
