Nissan Repair: 1987 D21 Winter starting troubles, battery cable, d21

Question
This only happens when it is cold, in the warmer weather I never experience this
problem. The problem is that when I turn the key to start and it won't start at
first. It seems that you need to hold the key down for 5-10 seconds before the
starter will start to turn over. I was wondering if you have ever seen this issue.
Thanks again.

Answer
Hi Eric -

Have you checked all the connections from battery cable to starter? There are 2 wires that go to the starter. All connections must be clean and tight with no corrosion.

Could also be the starter itself, but check the wires first.

Hope this helps -
