Nissan Repair: 06 Nissan Xterra Off Road, square wave generators, nissan xterra

Question
I was driving my Xterra last night and all of a sudden my lock differential and Traction Control lights came on.  I pulled over turned the truck off and when I started it again the traction control light stayed on, then the ABS and Slip lights came on.  Can you tell me what it could be?  The truck is driving fine and isn't making noises.

Answer
Becky,

It could be that the brake fluid needs to be flushed.  It could also mean that the system has detected a fault and it needs to be diagnosed and repaired.  There are square wave generators at each wheel and if a wire to one of these is messed up it could cause the code too.  I would first bleed the brakes and if that does not work get the code checked.  A dealer or a body shop would have the scanner for the ABS system.
