Motorcycle Repair: Electrical atv, yfm, shively

My son has a yfm yamaha 200 moto 4, can he hook up a light and tail light to its electrical system or does he have to have a battery. Quad rums well but has none of the electrics hooked up except the ignition. How many watts max etc.

Adding lights can be done. I'd need the service manual for specs to do the math and wiring diagram for the connections.
