Nissan Repair: fly-wheel, nissan sentra, flywheel

Question
i am replacing my clutch and fly-wheel on my 1999 nissan sentra and my book tells me to make a mark on the pressure plate and fly-wheel so that when i reinstall it i can line back up the marks so they will be put on exactly like they were, and the same for the fly-wheel and the other piece that its hooked up to. my question is, what if I am puttind a new fly-wheel and a new pressure plate, how should I line them with no marks because they are brand new?

Answer
Hi Steven -

If you are installing new components, marking the flywheel is not necessary.

However, if you haven't done so already, it is totally worth it to remove the flywheel and have it resurfaced. Don't worry, it is designed so it can only be re-installed one way, as it is factory balanced. Don't forget to replace the throw out bearing too while everything is out.

Hope this helps -
