any ideas please

Answer
Leeanne,

Pull the back seat and see if there is an access panel to get to the fuel pump.  Otherwise, you will have to drop the gas tank since the fuel pump goes in the top of the tank.  I am not familiar with the Serena but most Nissan cars have an access panel under the back seat.

Be sure to disconnect the negative side of the battery prior to starting work on the fuel pump.  Also, do it outside or open up the shop so there is plenty of air.  Get someone to stand by with a fire extinguisher.  Remember you are working with petrol.

Before you do anything be sure to check the fuel pump relay and fuse prior to doing the fuel pump.  Get a fuel pressure gauge to see if there is any pressure and to verify you are not getting gas.  Nothing is worse than replacing a part and find out it did not need to be replaced.  Don't ask me how I know.
