Nissan Repair: help me out, nissan frontier, brake shoes

Question
hello i have a 2000 Nissan frontier 131000 miles on it and lately it has been making a loud squealing noise when i barely press the brakes, but it goes away when i press hard on the brakes. To try and fix this i have replaced the rear brake shoes and have checked the emergency brake. I also cleaned most of the brake dust off of each side yet i continue to her this loud squealing noise when braking. What can i do to fix this annoying problem

Answer
Hi Stevie -

Have you checked the front disc pads? That is normally the first place that would make this noise. Sounds like you are at the low brake indicator which is designed to make that noise to alert the driver that they only have a few months left on the lining. Replace the front pads and you should be OK.

Hope this helps
