Nissan Repair: Pathfinder AC, fan clutch, radiator fan

Question
Is there any relation between engine temperature and air conditioner? My AC stops cooling when my car temperature goes up. What could be the problem, it is normal that the car temp is always high, the needle is always on the higher half.

Answer
Hi Miguel -

Yes, there is a direct correlation between the two. First of all, do you have a radiator fan clutch, or is your fan electric? Have you replaced your thermostat?

If you spray water over the condenser (the radiator type component behind your front grille) generously and the air conditiong temp gets colder, you are not getting enough air flow through the condenser, so it would be the fan clutch, most likely.

What year is your vehicle?

Hope this help -
