Nissan Repair: 2007 Maxima dashboard lights, dashboard lights, 2007 maxima

The dashboard lights for my 2007 Maxima do not work when the headlights or parking lights are turned on. If the headlights are turned off, they begin working again. This extends to the rest of the controls as well such as the radio and heater lights.

The instrument dimmer might be turned all the way off or it could even be defective.  This is the most common source of the problem.  I would think the car is too new for the headlight switch to be defective.  When the lights are off the instrument lights and controls are fed via the ignition circuit.  When the headlights are turned on the are fed from the headlight switch through the cluster dimmer switch.
