Nissan Repair: 2007 Nissan Altima, 2007 nissan altima, nissan altima

Question
I own a 2007 Nissan Altima (wifes car) this issue started a few months ago while i was out of town and car would not start after sitting for an hour or two after it had been fine all day. I assumed my wife was leaving an auxillary power draw on in the car and dismissed it. Than it did it to me, i started the car to pull it out of the garage to wash it, when i went to strat it again it would not start and not only that but was completely dead. I checked the terminals than the battery itslef, a little low but still good, so i hooked it to my trickle and charged it. car was fine for a couple weeks than did the same thing again to my wife who had it towed to the dealership who informed her that the battery was completely dead and than tried to charge her $70.00 just to charge it. Mind you the car was still with in warranty. car was fine for a few weeks than it happened again today, we just got back from a trip and it was fine the whole time. the car only has 32,000 miles on it and there is no way it would need a battery and if a battery is completely dead last time i checked you cant even charge it, so why will it start on a jump just fine?

Answer
JT,

It sounds like the battery has a dead cell or is defective.  Remember that todays batteries last about three years and yours is at the point where it would need replacement.  I would go to Autozone or Checker and have them check the battery and the charging system for free.  That will verify it is is in need of replacement.
