Nissan Repair: 1986 nissan truck, vacuum leaks, air control valve

Question
I have a 1986 nissan truck.  It is a 4x4 4 cylinder z24 motor.  The motor is fuel injected.  The problem is when i start the truck it doesnt want to idle under 2000rpm, it will stall out.  i have it set at 2500rpm now so i can use it and when i come to a stop it won't stall.  How can i get my motor to where it will idle under or around 1000rpm's?

Answer
Tobey,

Either you have a vacuum leak like a hose cracked or loose or a bad gasket.  If you have no vacuum leaks then you need to replace the idle air control valve.  A big vacuum leak will cause the vehicle to have a high idle to keep running.  If there is no leak then the idle air control valve is stuck and needs replacement.
