Nissan Repair: ABS, hall effect sensors, therr

Question
2001 NISSAN MAX  ABS LIGTH TRACK LIGHT AND THERR WHEELS R WAY OUT OF RANGE WHAT WOULD BE THE PROBLEM

Answer
Sean,

The brakes will need to be inspected.  Second, if the fluid has not been changed I would do so.  I like Ford High Performance Brake Fluid since it is still DOT3 but has twice the boiling point of other fluids.  Track light and their wheels are way out of range?  I will assume you mean the traction control is messing up and this can be attributed to dirty brake fluid too.  Now, if the fluid has been changed recently, within two years, I would be looking at the hall effect sensors on each spindle along with the tone rings to make sure they are in good order and no wires are damaged.  If the pads, fluid and sensors check good, along with the wiring, you may be looking at the ABS unit itself.  But, you check things in the order I have given and you should be fine.  A dealer will charge $100 bucks to run the codes and then clea them after they have charged a bundle to address the issue.  If you have a friend with an ABS code reader for Nissan it will aid in the diagnostics.
