Nissan Repair: 1995 nissan altama GXE Transmission, nissan altama, neutral safety switch

Question
QUESTION: Yes i know there is a sensor in the transmission that tells the car what gear it is in.  Also the car will not start unless the car is in park.  Well that sensor is not working correctly.  My car will not sense the car is in park and will not start.  The only way i have gotten it to start is by pushing the car while in neutral then putting it into part letting the gears grind.  I guess that triggers the sensor letting the car know it's in park and lets me start the car.  If you can give me any help at all that would be amazing.  Thank you for your time.

ANSWER: Michael,

If you have an automatic transmission the neutral safety switch needs to be replaced.  If it is a manual the clutch pedal switch needs to be replaced.

QUESTION: Ok so that is fine.  Thank you very much for you help.  Now my problem is it takes atleast a month for me to get parts.  Is there a way to bypass the switch until i can get the part in, and if you have it a wiring diagram of the NSS.

Answer
Michael,

I will assume it is a manual since the car starts by puching it.  1966 was the last year, that I am aware of, that a car with an automatic had a front pump that would allow it to be push started.  The clutch switch is above the clutch pedal and it is a matter of pulling the switch and connecting the wires together.
