Nissan Repair: Ignition sensor chip is missing, nissan almera, nissan maxima

Question
My 1996 nissan almera car will not start because the sensor chip of the ignition key is missing. The will start and goes off again. As a non-technician, what do i do?

Answer
Ralph,

You are going to need to find the color of your chip and get a replacement key.  The car will not run without it.  If you remember the color, mine is blue for my Nissan Maxima, and go to the dealer or on-line and order one.  Another way would be to get a locksmith to cut and code antoher key.  But, as a minimal you are going to need the chip to program the key yourself.  Email me back and let me know how it goes.
