It is illegal to change the odometer on a vehicle.  Make sure the laws about this in your local are followed.  Sometimes you have to annotate that the odometer has been modified even if it is the same as what the old cluster read. But, if you are wanting to match a replacement odometer it can be done.  You simply remove the speedometer from the cluster and disassemble the number wheel from the odometer and rotate the numbers to match the old cluster and then reassemble the number wheel into the speedometer making sure to line up the gears where the numbers appear in the window. If your odometer is of the digital variety you have to have someone with a computer that can interface with the vehicle to enter the correct kilometers.
