Nissan Repair: MY CAR JERKS, blowby, oil seal

Question
when i apply the gas slightly, i do not feel a drag on the car from one gear change to the other but when i hit the gas the car starts jerking before it run smoothly after about 6 seconds or more even though u can feel the slight bumps. i realised it happens a lot when i'm staying on a particular gear for a period of time and when changing from one gear to the other during quick acceleration. it sometimes runs very smoothly especially when i've parked for a longer time and the engine is cool. i've changed my transmission fluid and have had an expert look at the transmission and i have the all clear but the problem still exist. No error codes are coming up when the diagnostic machine is put on. Please help.

Answer
Lloyd,

Check the distributor for oil on the optics.  I say this since you say after it cools and has sit for a period of time it runs fine.  Disassemble the distributor and look for oil on the optical shutter wheel and LED pickup and receiver.  You will have to pull the cap and rotor and then unscrew the rotor post and cover to get to the shutter wheel.  What happens is the engine gets old and there is blowby and oil ends up wicking up the shaft past the oil seal and into the distributor.  If you have trouble getting a rebuilt distributor you can clean yours for now.  But, it will happen again until you can get a new seal or a rebuilt distributor.
