Nissan Repair: transmission, pep boys, automatic pilot

Question
will a 1.6 1997 sentra engine that was attached to a standard transmission work if it is transferred to a different 1997 sentra with an automatic transmission?

Answer
yes it will work, you need to remove the automatic pilot bearing in the rear of the engine, and they are difficult to remove.  they have a tool you can rent at advanced auto/autozone/pep boys that allows this to be an easier removal, you may need to drill it out.  other than that its basically the same.   make sure you use all the wiring from your car onto the engine, another difference may be the tps sensor, which you would swap yours over.

this is going from a standard vehicle, swapping in an auto motor but still using the standard transmission.

if you were going the other way around, its still the same but you would need to install the automatic pilot bearing into the standard engine.  you should have all the parts from both motors to make it work.  good luck.
