Nissan Repair: fuel gauge problem, fuel gauge, contact point

My fuel gauge wont work and im sick of running out of fuel in the middle of nowhere, i cant find a fuse that needs replaceing what can i do to make it work

you may need to replace the entire cluster which isnt overly complicated.  you may have to drop the steering column, you didnt specify which vehicle so i cant tell you for sure.  on the other hand it may be the sending unit itself.  it gets its signal from the floating part of the mechanism and the contact point where it reads how much fuel is in your tank wears down.  hope this helps, try the sending unit first.  good luck, let me know if this works out- xxp_sebby@yahoo.com.
