Nissan Repair: 1991 Nissan Sentra, auto trans, nissan sentra, carquest

Question
The car has 100,000 miles but has been garaged and well cared for. The transmission works perfect when the weather is cool, "80 degrees or less". After about 10 miles of driving on a hot day, from a start it shifts normal but will not shift past 2nd gear. After sitting long enough to cool off it shifts normal again. It acted up last fall, but went through our Fla winter shifting perfectly.
Thanks for your help.

Answer
Hi Charlie -

Assuming that the basics were checked, fluid level when car is warm, trans oil replaced and filter changed, could be the transmission needing an overhaul, if all else checks out.

In my years as a mechanic, I have found one additive that works incredibly, even in total "no shift" conditions. Product is called AT205. I get it here in Hawaii from Carquest, I don;t know where you are, but I am sure others have it.

Try that and I think you should be good to go -

Hope this helps -
