Nissan Repair: 2008 Nissan Sentra A/C, nissan sentra, horrible noise

I have a 2008 Nissan Sentra and out of the blue today my air conditioner started making a horrible noise, when I turned it off the noise stopped. I turned off the A/C and just the vents on and it still made the noise like it is the fan. I cannot get to it so I can investigate the problem. Any ideas on what to do?

Hi Toni -

If I read your message right, it looks like the fan and/or motor for the a/c system needs replacing. This is located behind/under the passenger side dash where the glove box is.

With the fan running (your second scenario), pull the wire out that leads to the fan. If the sound disappears, you have found the problem. Replace the unit and you should be good to go.
