Nissan Repair: Unbolting a window from the regulator, vice grips, window regulator

Question
1991 Maxima.  The driver window is completely down and it appears the motor won't respond to up commands (but seems to make some noise to down commands).  I just want to get the window up.  I have the door panel off, but the two bolts holding the glass onto the regulator are very low in the door, below where I can get a wrench of any kind on them to loosen the glass so it can be raised manually.  I don't see how the regulator/motor can be removed if the glass is still attached.  Has the glass dropped abnormally low?  How can I get it to where I can loosen those bolts?  Thanks.

Answer
Bruce,

You are going to need a regulator.  Because, to get your window up you are going to need to either cut the linkage to allow it to move up enough to get to the bolts or you are going to have to bend things to force the window up.  Check out a replacement window regulator and motor from your parts store or try rockauto.com or courtesyparts.com for cheap prices.  This is the only way sinc ethe window needs to be about half way up to get to the bolts.  Now, you could just cut the regulator and run the window up by hand and use a small pair of vice grips or a screw to hold the window up for now...
