i have a 1990 Nissan stanza with a 5 speed front wheel drive and i have no reverse iv pulled it all apart got a diagram on how it goes together and no reverse

You are going to be upset if this turns out to be the shifter.  Anyway, if you shift into reverse the shift fork is supposed to apply reverse.  If not then the shift fork is broken or the detent is broken off.  Run the transmission through all gears and spin the rotating assembly in each gear to make sure all if functioning.  But, it sounds like the shift assembly.
