Nissan Repair: clock spring, clock spring, vacuum leak

I just changed out the rack & pinion in my nephews 02 altima the bag light came on horn and cruise don't work. I know the clock spring must be broken but would that cause the engine to Rev at idle? pulled codes said cruise control, or vacuum leak I'm lost would the clock spring cause that????

Hi Robert -

This has to be related to the replacement of the rack. Take it back to where you had it repaired and have them re-check the install.

If you did the work yourself, try to trace back and find a wire that was not reconnected, or a vacuum line (this runs the cruise control) that was not returned back. A lot of times these things get disconnected unknowingly when trying to provide clearance to remove the rack.
