Nissan Repair: Heater, nissan alitma, heater control valve

Question
I have 2005 Nissan Frontier 4WD.  The heater is only heating when I am moving. It turns cold again when I am stopped at a traffic light. I readed a Nissan Alitma had the same problem and it was suggested it might be the heater control value.  Do think this is my problem with the Frontier and what kind of job is it to replace the value?

Thanks Mike

Answer
Hi Mike -

Yes, you are correct. The heater control valve is the culprit. Follow the heater hose near the firewall, there should be an in line connection with a wire and possibly a vacuum hose attached to it. This is the control valve.

Replace that and you should be good to go.

Hope this helps -
