Nissan Repair: Engine Looses Power when snowing, 2005 nissan pathfinder, mass airflow sensor

Question
I have a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder that looses engine power when snowing and blowing. It does this regardless of whether or not their is existing snow or ice on the ground. Basically what happens is when I am driving the car jolts (looses gas) for about 2 seconds and then continues on normally until about 30 seconds later. I drove 2000km recently when it did not snow and it didn't do it one time. Then I got behind a van that was full of snow and it happened about every 10 seconds. I took it to the dealer and they told me they can't do anything unless they can get an error code. This has been happening for about the last two months and progressively is getting worse. Thanks for your advice.

Answer
Carol,

If there is no code you are going to have problems diagnosing this.  I know of several Nissan cars that exhibit problems in really cold weather.  But, yours does not show to have a listing for the condition.  Now, I would think the mass airflow sensor.  But, since I cannot see the car so I am only guessing without a code.  Now, you could use a fuel additive that dissipates water.  Top off the fuel with premium and then add STP or the like and see how the vehicle performs.
