Nissan Repair: sticky clutch., nissan sentra, silicone spray

Question
QUESTION: I have a 99 nissan sentra SE. 4 cylinder, manual transmission. Lately, I have noticed, for example, when I downshift towards a stop sign, my clutch has been sticking, and I use my foot to quickly release it so I can continue to stop.
Could it be as simple as low fluids?

ANSWER: Hi David -

Probably not. I would look under the dash and check to see if the pedal is not binding against something when it is depressed all the way. Also lubricate all friction areas. That should do the trick.

QUESTION: thanks. What kind of lubrication are you talking about? You were very helpful.

Answer
Hi David -

Try spraying some silicone spray where the pivot point of the pedal is. This should be above the master cylinder shaft. BTW, you should also lubricate where the shaft enters the vehicle on the firewall.

Hope this helps -
