Nissan Repair: 1986 Nissan D21 Pickup wont start when hot, nissan d21, leaky injector

Question
QUESTION: When the truck is cold it will start, but after driving it a little bit and turning it off it will not start. It will crank but not turn over.  It is getting plenty of fuel.
The truck is an electronic fuel injected.  It also has two coils.  Any suggestions?

ANSWER: Jeff,

Check the distributor for oil on the optical shutter wheel.  If you are sure you have fuel pressure then check the plugs for fouling as in a leaky injector or two.  Next check for fire at the plugs.  If the ignitor module is overheating it will not start as you describe.  Email me back if you need more information.

QUESTION: I neglected to say that the vehicle engine is TBI.  I guess I am lost when you mentioned the ignitor module.  Where will this be located and does it go by any other names?

Answer
Jeff,

I need to know if the vehicle has spark?  If not then look at the distributor as I mentioned earlier.  Second, there is an electrical box, on the fender that ties into the ignition circuit that acts an an amplifier for the computer to sense when to fire the plugs.
