Nissan Repair: 94 Pulsar Q Door Locks, upward motion, putty knife

Question
G`day Calvin.Have read other posts with related problem but have not seen the solution To the big Question. Passenger side door is locked and wont unlock. Door handles and linkages seem intact.Have lifted door panel enough to open a gap to see down into mechanism. Central locking is activating on all doors. The door in question gives a "chattering" sound when unlocking with the electrics but manual lock button still moves to the normal position. How do I get to the lock mechanism without destroying the door panel?

Answer
Hi Brodie -

The door panel just unsnaps. Ensure that the window is down. Start at the bottom and find the plastic clips that hold the panel to the door frame. Use a putty knife to carefully pry each snap loose. At the top there may be one or two screws you need to remove, and also at the arm rest. The panel is removed with an upward motion towards the window. Once loose, some wiring for the window, door lock, and linkage/plastic trim will have to be removed.

Hope this helps -
