Nissan Repair: altenator, negative terminal, c size

Question
the best way to replace a alternator on a 1990 300zx non turbo

Answer
Hi Larry -

First and foremost disconnect the battery at the negative terminal. Then find the 2 sets of wires going to the alternator, one should be a terminal, and the other is a wire that attaches with a 10mm nut. Remove them both, and proceed to remove the bolts that hold the alternator, I think they are 14mm, adjustment bolt is 12mm. This should free up the alternator for removal/ Depending on the model of your vehicle, A/C or non A/C, size of the engine, you may have to temove other components to gain access.

Hope this helps -
