Nissan Repair: 1993 nissan altima repair, nissan altima, ok check

Question
my blower for my heater/ac no longer works. it just seems dead. lights on dash for heater light up, but there is nothing. Any ideas? also, do you have diagrams for my fuses, I don't know what each one is for.

Answer
Hi Jeny

Several things you can check - In order of probability:

Fuse - 2 places - on fan fuse is below the driver's dash near the kick panel. Look for a fuse that is labeled "A/C" or "fan". The system fuse is located on the fender in the engine compartment, under a rectangular cover. I am sorry, I do not have a wiring diagram, but I am sure you can get it at either www.car2pros.com or www.autozone.com

Fan - If the fuse is OK, check to see if the fan is getting power when you turn the switch on. (you will need a light tester or voltmeter). If there is power, replace the fan motor.

If there is no power, check the fan resistor, same way you check the switch. This is located either on the firewall of the engine compartment, or attached to the ductwork of the heater system.

If there is no power there, then the fan relay, or fan switch could be defective.

Hope this helps,
aloha
