Nissan Repair: Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T idling issue, nissan skyline r33, skyline r33 gts

Question
G'day,
I find my R33 has some idling issues and occasionly stalls as the engine revs down and is under brakes (vacuum load). Specifically, when i gently touch the accelerator, the engine will drop in revs momentarily (and sometimes stall)before accelerating to the throttle position that it should be at. I've checked for vacuum leaks and didnt find any at this stage. Is this more than likely an air-flow meter or throttle body sensor issue? I've heard oil residue from the pod type filters can build up on the air flow meter wire and affect their sensing ability etc. thanks.

Answer
Nigel,

I would say to clean the air meter with cleaner.  You can use tuner cleaner or mass airflow sensor cleaner.  If that does not do the trick check the air meter for proper operation.  The throttle position sensor would be the second thing that can cause the condition you describe.
