Answer
David,

Since yours is a 1997 you should be able to go to Autozone or Checker and get them to read the computer codes for free.  They should let you know what is going on.  Even if the check engine light is not on there should be a code or two stored in memory.  That would be my first go around.  For your car there are some things like the cold start sensor that richens up the fuel mix.  Other things like the idle air control valve or the mass airflow sensor can cause a no start condition.  Also, there is a possibility of the fuel pump or fuel pump relay.  But, first check the codes.  Then, if there are some address the issue.  If the condition still persists check the fuel pump relay and fuel pump.  That is, check the fuel pressure to make sure the system pressurizes at start.
