Nissan Repair: 99 Quest - electrical failure, electrical failure, radio dial

Question
Occasionally, my 99Quest will not start. Nothing. I've never been able to determine the cause, but I've fixed the problem by quickly readjusting the battery wires and/or the spark plug connections. (Not sure which is actually solving the problem.)

This problem is not affected by weather. New battery did not solve the problem. I can sometimes predict the failure while driving, if the FM radio randomly cuts out at 1-second intervals (radio dial and clock do not cut out). If this has happened and I turn off the engine, all electrical systems become inoperative.

Last week, for the first time ever, while accellerating on the freeway, the engine jerked and went dead suddenly... I got all engine lights on, then off, but everything recovered and car lurched back to speed.

What's up? Loose wiring?

Answer
Kendall,

Check the master fuse links where the positive battery cable connects to the battery.  Also, check the power feed to the relay box under the hood.  Also, if you have an aftermarket alarm check where they spliced into the harness under the dash.
