Nissan Repair: 1995 quest no power, throttle position sensor, pvc valve

Question
What would cause a 1995 Nissan quest 3.3 liter engine to have no power when accelerating from a stop and especially when going up hills?
Plus Some times when I go to start it, it seems to flood and won't start. It will when I let it sit a few minutes or push on the accelerator while trying to start it, it will start but runs real rough at first.
I have changed out the PVC valve, spark plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap, throttle position sensor, cleaned out the intake manifold, and checked the timing when the engine was warm (which checked right on)
I didn't have this problem until my wife took the car in to have the timing belt replaced and she complained that the accelerator seemed to stick when accelerating from a stop and would cause the van to jerk some. It doesn't jerk anymore, but I also don't have any power now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

Answer
Hi Dave -

It seems that the timing belt is off a notch in the retard direction. Fast check is to line the damper with the timing mark TDC on the engine, pull the distributor cap and look where the rotor is pointing. I has to be exactly at the #1 cylinder tower of the cap. If not, the timing is retarded and belt needs to be adjusted.

Can you tell me how you checked the timing, what line did you use?

I would definitely take it back and ask for it to be looked at. Should still be under labor warranty.

Let me know how it goes -
