Nissan Repair: Leaking Rear Differential, shaft seals, nissan pathfinder

My 1997 Nissan Pathfinder's rear differential is leaking.  How do I repair the leak?

Hi Jamie -

Can you tell me where the leak is? At the end of the axle behind the brake plate, or under the pinion gear in the center?

If it is the center, check the differential seal where the driveshaft enters the differential.

If it is by the wheels, your axle shaft seals need replacing.
