Nissan Repair: rear view mirror installation, rear view mirror, nissan murano

Question
Need to know which adhesive/glue is specified to install a rear view mirror (Nissan Murano 2004). Also if the surface where the mirror is attached to has to be prepared somehow. Previous intents failed as the mirror fell after the installation. I suspect that either the adhesive used is not the right one or that we need to pre-treat the surface where the mirror will be placed.

It is basically super glue.  There are kits sold that have the cleaner, activator and clue in the kit and it is just a matter of cleaning the area with a razor blade and then the cleaner, usually, alcohol, then the activator is applied to both the windshield and the cleaned mounting bracket, removed from mirror.  Then he glue goes on and you place the mount on the glass and hold in place for a few minutes.  Wait an hour before installing the mirror.
