Nissan Repair: 1992 Nissan Hard Body Gas Pedal Stuck, throttle position sensor, accelerator cable

Question
I have a 1992 truck that I have been having intermittent problems with the gas pedal getting stuck.  I happens when I do I a lot of stop and go driving.  After a stop, the pedal seems to stick.  I have to apply some good pressure or firmly tap the gas pedal to free it and proceed.  I made sure there were no kinks in the line leading from the pedal to the throttle body.  The TB has been serviced recently to correct an idle issue.  Somebody told me that my problem may be due to a throttle position sensor going bad.  Please help.....

Thanks

Answer
Hi Bryan -

Please do this test - remove the accelerator cable at the throttle body and see if the pedal still binds. If so, then replace the cable. If not, then it could be a binding throttle plate, or the sensor.

Check it out and hope you find it -

Hope this helps -
