Nissan Repair: Heat/AC Fan, 2003 nissan altima, blower motor resistor

Question
I have a 2003 Nissan Altima 2.5S. The AC/Heater Fan has four speeds. All four were working fine; suddenly the first three speeds stopped working, only #4 currently blows. I checked both the fuses in the cabin and in the engine compartment, but none were blown. What could be the cause of the problem and how do I repair it? Thanks, Joe.

Answer
Joe,

There is a blower motor resistor that is blown out.  That is why the first three speeds will not work.  It is located on the passenger side under the dash on the blower case.  Purchase a new one and you will see what you are looking to replace.  Just two screws and the connector.  You will probably have to remove the glovebox to get access to the part.  A Haynes Manual would be helpful for the pictures it provides and diagrams too.
