Nissan Repair: Nissan Pickup Tire Inflation Pressure, correct tire pressure, oem tires

Question
I am confused by the placard explaining correct tire pressure on a 1994 Nissan Pickup.  One part lists 26 psi and another lists 35 psi.  I'm not sure if this is depending on load.  Do you know the correct tire pressure for OEM tires for this vehicle?  Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Chris -

You are correct. With the truck unloaded, the rear is very light, and does not need high tire pressure.

Usually 26 is for regular driving, and when you are loaded with cargo, you need to pump it up a little.

I usually recommend 30 in the front and 32 in the rear for those that do not want to fuss with it too much. Will save you more fuel than 26PSI, due to less drag on the pavement.

Hope this helps -
