Nissan Repair: Brake Light, brake lining, infiniti i30t

Question
Hi, I'm driving a 98 infiniti i30t and the brake light stays on. The car died on me the other night and I replaced the battery and now it starts fine but the brake light is still on. The brake fluid level is at the max but the light is still on. Brakes feel fine and the parking brake is not up. Any suggestions?

Answer
Hi Rashad -

That brake light will go on for 4 reasons -

Low brake fluid
Loss or imbalance of pressure in your brake system
Hand brake applied
Low brake lining

Try checking your brake lining to see if you need to replace them.

Otherwise you may want to bleed the brakes, front and rear.

Hope this helps -
