Nissan Repair: 1994 Nissan Maxima, speedometer cable, nissan maxima

Speedometer not working after speed sensor replaced. Also, car is surging under normal operation. PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Have spent several hundred dollars trying to fix the problem to no avail. :(

Hi Randy -

I need a brief history of your problem to give you an accurate diagnosis. Why was the speed sensor replaced? Are you saying that the speedometer was working before, and after the VSS replacement, it does not work anymore? The surging is probably from the computer looking for a speed parameter. What have you done to the vehicle so far? Have you checked the speedometer cable operation, and gear that goes in the transmission?
