Nissan Repair: 99 Nissan Altima Drivers side visor, nissan altima, salvage yards

When I use my visor to block some of the sun, I'm limited to using it completely vertical. If I try to use it at an angle, it will slowly drop down until it's vertical again. I've inquired about buying a new one, but it costs over $180.00 due to a mirror that it contains. Honestly, I could care less about the mirror on the visor. I've tried different salvage yards, but haven't had any luck. Isn't there a way of fixing the visor?

Hi Joe -

Look at how it is attached to the metal bracket that swings out. There should be one screw. Tighten that, and the visor should have some resistance so it will stay. If it is at its limit, then loosen it completely, and try to stick something inside, such as a piece of cardboard so that when you tighten the screw again, the swivel is tight.
