Answer
Hi Marci -

Let's go back to basics first -

Engines do not start for 2 reasons. Either it is not getting fuel, or not getting spark. Before we go on, let's determine what it is to channel our diagnosis.

To check spark, remove one spark plug wire and insert a screwdriver so it wedges against the metal terminal inside. Hold the screwdriver about 1/4" away from any metal surface of the vehicle while someone turns the engine. There should be a spark jumping between the screwdriver and metal surface. BE CAREFUL not to touch any metal surface while you do this please! If there is no spark, I would replace the ignition module and check the distributor cap and rotor.

I am assuming that the fuel pump does work since you have replaced it. It would be a good idea to check it anyway. Loosen the fuel line where it connects to the injector rack (do not have to remove it). Turn the ignition on momentarily and there should be a good amount of fuel leaking out. If not, then check the fuel pump or fuse.

Can you tell me the nature of how the engine stopped running? Were you just driving and it stopped?

Thank you -
aloha
